ISTE is committed to protecting the privacy of our membership and website users, and registrants. To better serve our constituency, we may collect certain types of data from those who visit the website.

1. IP addresses and server information: We collect this to help monitor the performance of our systems so we can continue to improve our visitors’ experience. 7. Event data: ISTE collects location-based data about onsite attendee engagement as well as attendee content selection and favoriting in the event mobile app.

Health Data

We are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal health information of our registrants. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard health-related data provided by individuals seeking accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

1. Collection of Health Data: We collect self-reported volunteered ADA accommodation information from registrants through our online registration form or through our customer service team. This health data may include, but is not limited to:

• Allergy information
• Mobility information
• Current health ailment information
• Nursing mother information
• Guardian or companion information
• Mental health-related information

2. Purpose of Data Collection: The health information shared with us is used solely to assist in meeting ADA accommodations while registrants attend our events. This information enables us to provide appropriate support and services to ensure a comfortable and accessible experience for all attendees.

4. Data Retention: Health-related data provided by registrants is retained only for the duration necessary to fulfill ADA accommodations for the respective event. Once the event has concluded, this information is promptly removed from our records.

5. Non-Disclosure and Sale of Information: We do not sell or disclose personal health information collected from registrants to third parties for marketing or other commercial purposes. The information is used solely for the purpose of facilitating ADA accommodations at our events.

6. Consent and Opt-Out: Registrants have the right to provide or withhold consent for the collection of health data. They may also choose to withdraw consent or request the removal of their health information from our records at any time. However, it should be noted that opting out may affect our ability to provide necessary accommodations.

7. Compliance with Applicable Laws: We comply with all relevant laws and regulations governing the collection, use, and protection of personal health information, including but not limited to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the ADA.
