The custom platform we built for ISTE20 Live was such a hit with attendees that it would have been easy to leave it alone for this year’s event. But we just couldn’t stop tinkering to make the experience even more convenient and engaging.

We’ve added a few new bells and whistles for ISTELive 21 and have improved functionality. We’ve also increased the value by adding more learning opportunities to the recordings archive.

If you didn’t attend last year and are wondering how much difference a well-designed platform can make, just read what Sara Evans, a technology teacher at Chandler Unified School District in Arizona, had to say:

“I am completely blown away by the coding and building of this platform. The fact that there's a gaming center for us to stay engaged and a digital tote and virtual booths, the 'behind the scenes' of building this for us is astounding to me. And that they have these chat channels for us to connect and collaborate. It's all genius. Also, it's pretty rad most of the content will be available for 6 months!”

Read on to find out about some of the extras you can expect for ISTELive 21 and then register today:

The game

The game was so popular at ISTE20 Live, we’ve upgraded it and added new elements this year. Look for:

New mascots: We’ve kept your favorite team mascots but increased their powers to rival your COVID adaptation powers and added several more.

Squads: Playing games on your own is fun but collaborating with others on unique squad challenges makes the game even more engaging. Make a squad of up to eight members to work together on challenges each day.

Upgraded Easter eggs: Last year’s hidden Easter eggs are back but now try your luck at finding the golden eggs worth six times the standard point value.

Session recommendations

We’ve folded recommendations into the program search so they are easier to favorite, filter and find for easier access to curated content.

We’re recording EVERYTHING

This year we’re recording EVERY session. This includes all posters, playgrounds, and Solutions Partner content, along with all other session formats, so if you’re torn between which sessions to attend, don’t worry, we’ve got a recording for that.

Highlighting attendee participation

We’ve aimed to integrate social media into the platform at the Social Spot. This location allows us to highlight participants’ social interaction along with their game challenge submissions. Find the Social Spot on the top navigation bar.

ISTE Central

Have questions about ISTE, its offerings, or looking for PD recommendations? ISTE Central has you covered with a staff message board to answer all of your ISTE questions, a list of short-form sessions about ISTE products and authors, and highlighted resources and swag.
